Practice Tips Practice every day, even if it is just a few pieces. Don't forget to listen to your CD!
Always play with a beautiful tone. Remember that this is your instrument's voice — please don't choke your instrument's voice!
If a passage of music feels too difficult to tackle, play it more slowly or play only a few notes in the passage. Repeat the passage until you can play it well for five times in a row. Then you can speed up the tempo or add more notes and repeat the cycle. Younger students may wish to use a counting aid (beads, pennies etc.).
When playing review pieces, choose one goal to focus on before you start (for example: curled pinky on the bow hold). If you need ideas for focus goals, ask your teacher.
