Allison  recognizes the privilege and honour of being invited into the childhood and life of each of her students. She endeavours to nurture in her students an awareness of their great potential. She aims for her students to develop the confidence to pursue their dreams, to acquire experience discerning and forging a path toward their goals; and to learn to find joy in this process. 

Allison holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Manitoba, and a Master of Music in Literature and Performance from Western University. She is indebted to her music teachers - Faith Reimer, Jin Park, Arlene Dahl, Alex Adaman, Paul Marleyn, Thomas Wiebe, and David Evenchick - for their unique perspectives and influence on her life. 

Allison has taught private cello lessons and group classes for Suzuki Music Winnipeg since 2005, and has been the SMW Program Coordinator since 2017. Committed to life long learning, Allison revisited and expanded her Suzuki training, completing the two-year SAA Long-Term Teacher Training program at the Suzuki String School of Guelph in 2023. 

Allison maintains a committed teaching studio of wonderful cellists. She lives in Winnipeg with her husband and young cellist son, and a little bird named Lulu who likes to sing along in lessons.
